We don’t just give students an education and experiences that set them up for success in a career. We help them succeed in their career—to discover a field they’re passionate about and dare to lead it.
We are one of the most diverse high schools in the Bahamas with over 500 students.
Tabernacle Baptist Academy was established by Pastor Alpheus Woodside in 1985 and it is recognized not only for it's sports program but academics as well. Throughout our great history, Tabernacle Baptist Academy has offered access to a wide range of academic opportunities. As a leader in higher education, the High school has pioneered change in the sector.
When it comes to addressing pertinent matters covering our children holistically, the clear choice is Tabernacle Baptist Christian Academy! Thorough emphasis is not solely placed upon the academic aspect of our children, but also their social, mental, physical and of course, the spiritual portions as well.
For almost four decades, we at Tabernacle have consistently adhered to our policy of using Luke 2: 52 as a day to day guide for the overall wellness of our students, “And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and man.
Phenomenal update on Tabernacle Baptist Academy this morning from Principal Ashell Bain and we were so happy to hear of the students’ academic achievements in the past year! Principal Bain noted multiple accomplishments and school programs including the 100% passing rate of the national exams, after school classes provided at the school, secure online learning platform, weekly reporting to parents and intervention program to help academically struggling students!
Principal Bain stressed the importance of school-parent partnership and active involvement of parents in their child’s schooling. Principal Bain has made it clear how Tabernacle has actively been making strides in the education of their pupils and will be doing even more in the future!
"A thorough knowledge of the Bible is worth more than a college education"
Theodore Roosevelt.
I believe the Bible is the foundation of all education and development in the life cycle of a child. The bible is completely sufficient for equipping us to live a life of godliness, this is why we at Tabernacle Baptist Christian Academy include the Bible so strongly in the matter of education.
Timothy 3:16 says, "All scripture is given by instruction of God, and it is profitable for doctrine, for repent, for correction and for instruction in righteousness.
I attended the celebrated Tabernacle Baptist Christian Academy for 15 years. While attending Tabernacle, I can boldly say that it nurtured my love for academics, my school spirit, and my competitiveness like no other school could. Being a Falcon taught me to expect excellence and to be excellent in all aspects of my life, no matter what i decided to pursue.
The teachers, those who were not already my family, became family. They treated each student as they would treat their own children. They ensured that you understood the subject matter no matter how many tries it took. Most teachers went above and beyond, hosting saturday classes, opening their homes, and sacrificing their holidays to ensure that we not only passed exams but that we did with distinction.
Of Course everyone is aware of the athletic powerhouse that is Tabernacle. No matter the sport whether it is basketball, softball, volleyball, or track and field. We were always on top. The athletic faculty ensured that we had the best school spirit, they made sure that we were the loudest, the most enthusiastic, and the most supportive of our athletes. I remember Friday chapel when we would practice our chants for the field or the court. There aern't many things in high school that were more exciting than Friday morning chapel.
Tabernacle is a school that does not like to loose. That culture taught me to expect to be the best at everything and that if for some reason I was not the best, it taught me to work harder because success is not handed to you and winners are not just born. You must work hard consistently and persistently. With that mindset, I left Tabernacle and went on to receive my Bachelor's in Biology, my Master's in Public Health, and now I am 6 months away from graduating with my medical degree to become a Doctor of Medicine and Surgery. This path was not an easy one, and it was not a short one, but being a Falcon taught me to be respectful, to work hard, and to cheer for myself even when no one else was cheering. I can confidently say that there is no better school in the Bahamas for the development of capable, well-rounded, ambitious young people.
